Donor

A Donor is an individual making Gifts to one or more Appeal run by the Charity.

The information held on each Donor is sufficient to be able to reclaim the tax already paid on the Gifts made.
This is:

FieldDescription
TitleMr, Mrs, Miss, Revd, Dr or any other title to appear on a letter.
Forename(s)One or more forenames.
SurnameThe Donor's surname.
SalutationThe name following "Dear" in a letter. This means the letter can be more or less formal than using the full name. For example "Dear John" rather than "Dear Mr Jones".
Short NameBy default this is {Surname}, {Title} {Initial} but can be changed. It is used to easily identify the Donor.

Address
Max My Gift will use the information already entered to try to fill in some of the information.
For example if there is already a Donor living in the same road, some of the rest of the address details will be the same.
This is why the house number is separate from the road name.
The entries are not all necessary and are assembled on the screen as they will appear as a full address.
Other information
The note is optional and can be used to hold a small amount of information about the Donor (reminders etc).

Reference

Many charities operate an envelope scheme so that donations can be made without revealing the Donor to more than a few people who need to know.
The Donor Reference makes it easy to associate a reference with a Gift and a Donor.

Gift Aid Reclaim

To reclaim the tax already paid on Gifts, the Donor signs a Declaration form stating that the tax can be reclaimed.
